Artist statement by Tim Woodhouse
As a self taught artist of thirty years, I work
primarily from photographic reference in
charcoal, graphite, and pastel. Honing my
skills, figurative work has most inspired me
and I have focused on the female face and
form.
I have shown regionally in numerous art
festivals, and exhibitions building a strong
local clientele, and in New York City.
Recently, I have dedicated my attention to
obtaining exhibition opportunities and
representation elsewhere.
In 2007 the Christiania Arts Foundation
held an international art contest (designed
to update the classic nude). Attracting over
6 million hits in one month, the website had
over 75,000 unique visitor's and 1000 artist
submissions. 400 were picked as very
serious works of art. Of those, 24 were
chosen. I was picked the winner. The prize?
A billboard of my drawing in SoHo NYC!
